Love the process , Not just result

During my college days, I got the direct selling business opportunity through my seniors which kept me indulged in it along with my studies. One day during a training session a senior leader asked me “ what did I want out of life?” I answered a lot of things which were there in my mind at that time. In college, I was quite clear about the things  I was endeavouring for. Later on, I went on and achieved the things I planned in my college whether it was purchasing a car, paying college fees, having a good lifestyle.

Coming back on the question which my senior asked: “what do you want out of life?”

Over the years I realized that it’s not just sufficient to know

“what do you want out of your life!” But, you should also know “ How much pain, struggle and sacrifice you are willing to make to achieve it!”

In order to achieve success, you must be willing to face the struggle and pain and enjoy the process of reaching your goal. Let me explain it with an example, ‘if you want to climb Mount Everest, you must love the process of training’. The only way possible to climb it is when you are enjoying the journey of getting there. Reaching to the top is just a momentary achievement but the journey that you have gone through will always be an integral part of your life.

Here’s another example, If you are striving to have a good physique, you set a fitness goal for yourself. If you are not enjoying going to the gym and not opting to eat the right diet then it will be impossible to achieve the goal.

On the other hand, if you enjoy the process right from dressing up for the gym to enjoying the workouts and having the right diet instead of just focusing on daily muscle growth, then you are on the right track of having a good physique.

In order to achieve good health, you should fall in love with the exercise regimes and enjoy having a healthy and nutritious diet.

So, here’s what you should do to achieve any goal. Ask yourself these questions.

1) What is the goal I want to achieve?

2) What is the way of achieving it?

3) Do I love the process of achieving it?

4) If not, am I still willing to go through the struggles and pain of achieving it?

Remember, its key to achieving any goal in life is to fall in love and enjoy the journey of achieving it.
